The setup wizard
Answer a few questions and flint builds your scenes, checks your camera and picks good settings.
The setup wizard opens the first time you use flint. It:
- asks what you stream (just chatting, gaming, variety, art and making, music, DJ, podcast and co-hosts, or IRL) and starts your scenes from a layout made for it;
- checks what this browser can do;
- asks for your camera and microphone, with a preview and a sound meter, so you know they work;
- builds your first scenes from that layout (you can pick another), with "Starting soon", "Be right back" and "Ending" screens if you like;
- connects your Twitch account, or takes your stream key;
- measures your upload speed and picks a video size and quality your connection can carry;
- lets you try a test stream to a viewer on this computer.
Start with Twitch on a new computer: if that Twitch account already has a flint backup, flint says welcome back and offers your passkey or backup key, so your scenes come back instead of starting again (your backup's contents never leave it: flint only knows the account has one).
Every step can be skipped, and you can run it again any time from Help › Setup wizard. Running it again builds a new scene collection: your current scenes are kept.
