Upload speed test
Measures how fast you can send, and picks settings that fit.
flint sends a few megabytes of random data to its own server and times it. Streaming uses about two thirds of what it measures, so other things (a game, a video call, someone else on the Wi-Fi) still have room. It also allows for your computer: older or smaller computers get a lighter setting.
Results jump about on Wi-Fi; a cable is steadier. Run it again at the time of day you stream if things change. The test data is thrown away at once.
Test my upload (Settings › Video & recording, at the top) does it right there: it says your upload speed, the bitrate it can carry (80% of it, rounded down to the thousand; Twitch's maximum is 6000 kbps), and the size and frame rate that fit that bitrate and why. Use sets them all; Just the bitrate changes only the bitrate.
