Auto-Shorts: your highlights, ready for TikTok

flint spots the moments chat goes wild while you're live, and turns the best into captioned vertical Shorts.

Auto-Shorts (on by default: Settings › Video & recording) watches your stream for its best moments and clips them by itself. After the stream, the best few become Shorts: vertical videos for TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, with captions. You don't have to do anything.

What counts as a moment: chat suddenly going much faster than usual for your channel; hype in chat (POG, LUL, KEKW, "no way", 💀…); you shouting or laughing; and subs, gifted subs, raids and big cheers. The first minute is spent learning your chat's normal pace. Moments are at least 40 seconds apart, and each clip ends 10 seconds after the peak so the reaction is in it.

After the stream a note says how many it found and starts making Shorts of the best (Shorts after each stream: 1, 3, 5 or 10; or none). They're in View › Clips › Highlights, each with why it was picked.

The Short:

Any clip can be made into a Short in View › Clips, with a different layout too. Trim it first if you like.

The clips come from the replay buffer, an extra video encode while you're live. With a graphics card encoder flint runs it for Auto-Shorts by itself; without one, only when the replay buffer is on anyway (Settings › Video & recording).

Everything stays on your computer: nothing is uploaded anywhere.
