Audio filters: cleaner sound
Noise gate, compressor, EQ, gain and limiter, plus balance, mono and lip sync.
Open a source's properties › Audio to add filters. They run in order, top to bottom:
- Noise gate: silences the mic when you're not talking (keyboard clicks, fans).
- Compressor: evens out loud and quiet, so shouts don't blast and murmurs are heard.
- EQ: more or less bass, middle and treble.
- Gain: louder or quieter before everything else.
- Limiter: a hard ceiling.
A good start for a voice: gain if it's quiet, then a noise gate, then a compressor.
Also there: noise suppression (the browser's own, for microphones), balance (left/right), mono (for a mic that's only in one ear) and sync offset, which delays the sound when your lips and voice don't match.
